That expensive titanium dive knife was a waste...

Picked up a $150 titanium knife 6 months ago thinking it would never rust. First real job in the Gulf, and the tip snapped off prying a grate. My $35 stainless steel backup has held up way better. Anyone else find that fancy materials just don't hold up to actual commercial work?

Did you ever use that warranty on the titanium knife? I bought a fancy ceramic blade once thinking it would stay sharp forever, but it chipped the first time I cut through a frozen rope. Now I just stick with good old stainless and replace it yearly.

Watch that ceramic chip like a hawk @logan525, I'd take a titanium warranty over brittle ceramic any day.

Titanium's a premium price tag for worse performance in the real world.
