That time a bolt took me four hours to remove underwater

I was on a job in San Diego checking a pier support and found a bolt that looked fine from the outside. Turned out the threads were completely rusted through and the head snapped off the second I put torque on it. Four hours with a hydraulic drill and a broken extractor kit later, I finally got the stub out. Has anyone else had a simple task turn into a full shift underwater?

Four hours" for one bolt? Bro I spent six trying to free a frozen shackle on a buoy once, feels bad.

Nah @hollywhite a shackle's way tougher than a bolt though, different beast entirely.

Yeah man, I spent five hours on a single bolt in a ballast tank once, brutal stuff.
