A customer's 30-second remark changed how I quote repair work
Last Tuesday a guy brought in a laptop with a dead motherboard and asked why my labor was $95 when he could ship it off for $40. He said, 'You're not selling a part, you're selling the peace of mind that it's done right.' That hit me because I've been undercharging flat-rate jobs for 3 years to compete with online mail-in shops. Has anyone else shifted from hourly to value-based pricing after a similar talk, or am I overthinking a one-off comment?
