At a repair shop in Austin, a client's old laptop taught me to stop pushing for upgrades so fast.

They just needed a new $5 fan, not a whole new machine, which made me realize I was sometimes fixing a problem they didn't have. Anyone else find themselves jumping to replace parts before checking the simple stuff first?

Happens all the time. Get so focused on the new tech you miss the cheap fix. Good reminder to slow down and actually listen.

But is it really that big a deal?
