Hit my 500th motherboard repair and it felt weirdly different

So I keep a rough count in a notebook, nothing fancy, just tally marks every time I finish a board repair instead of swapping it. Last Thursday I hit 500 and I gotta say it surprised me how much that number landed. Not because 500 is some magic number, but because I realized I've stopped second guessing my soldering work. Back in 2021 when I started doing this full time in Austin, I'd redo joints two or three times and still worry about them. Now I look at a cracked trace or blown cap and I just know what to do, no hesitation. That confidence didn't come from any single big job, it came from all those little cheap boards people almost tossed. Has anyone else hit a milestone count like that and noticed their approach shift, or is it just me being weird about numbers?

Did you ever feel like you were just faking it until the count got real? I used to think milestone numbers were kinda silly, but honestly reading this, I get it now, that quiet shift in your own head is way more meaningful than the number itself.
