I was swapping a laptop fan for a client and the new one failed in a week

Last month, I replaced a noisy fan in a Dell Latitude 7490 with a cheap part from a bulk supplier. The job went smooth, but the client came back seven days later with the same whine. I opened it up and saw the replacement fan's bearing was already shot. The supplier just sent me a bad batch. Has anyone else had a run of bad parts from a usually good source lately?

Sounds like your supplier is really fanning the flames of frustration there. (Been there, it's the worst.)

Right? @kim_ramirez3, it feels like they're trying to make the problem worse on purpose. I had one who'd promise next-day delivery for months and never get it right.

My old shop in Tacoma had a whole box of bad power adapters from a trusted vendor. We didn't catch it until three laptops came back with charging issues. It really makes you double-check every single part now.
