Found out from a foreman in Phoenix that a 4 inch slab can lose up to 20% of its PSI if you pour it when the ground temp is over 90 degrees

I always knew hot weather was bad for curing but I didnt realize it could cut the strength that much, has anyone else seen test cylinders come back lower from summer pours?

Honestly I used to think that was just people being dramatic but @cole_flores44 broke it down in a way that finally clicked for me. Saw a buddy lose a solid week of progress just from one bad interaction that spiraled. The way it builds up little by little before you even realize what's happening is wild.

Caught myself rolling my eyes at this stuff a few years back, thought it was just people looking for an excuse. Then I had a really rough week at work that bled into everything and suddenly I was snapping at my wife over nothing. Took me a good five days to get my head straight again. Ever had something like that sneak up on you without realizing it?
