I finally got a handle on a bad bleed water situation on a garage slab in Bellingham

We poured a 24x24 slab last Tuesday and the bleed water just wouldn't come up evenly, leaving a huge patch in the middle that was way too wet to finish. My buddy Dave and I grabbed a garden hose and sprayed a super fine mist over the dry edges to slow their set, then hit the wet patch with the magnesium float to pull more water to the surface. It bought us the extra 20 minutes we needed for everything to even out. Anyone have a different trick for when the weather turns on you like that?

Misting the edges is smart... we've used a spray bottle with a fine setting for more control in a pinch.

It's funny how often the simple fix is the right one.

You used a spray bottle for that?
