I thought those magnesium floats were just a gimmick until I tried one on a 40-yard basement slab last month.

What kind of finish were you going for? I was a total skeptic too until a buddy made me try his on a garage floor. The difference on the hard trowel was crazy, it just glides. My arm wasn't nearly as dead at the end of the day. That slick, burnished look you get is way easier to hit. I won't pour anything without one now.

Same here, I fought using one for years. Tried it on a shop floor and the finish came out way smoother with half the effort. My trowel just floated over the surface instead of digging in. It's not even about saving time, it's about not wrecking your shoulders on big jobs. Once you get that glassy finish down once, there's no going back.

Man, they're total game changers for big pours!

@the_drew totally nailed it, that gliding feel on the hard trowel is unreal. Made my 50-yard garage pour feel like a breeze and I’m never going back to a normal float lol.
