I was dead wrong about wet curing being overrated

Always thought it was a waste of time for small flatwork until I skipped it on a 30-yard driveway in Phoenix last July and ended up with a spiderweb of cracks by day three. Has anyone else gotten burned skipping the cure on a hot pour and changed their mind?

Spiderweb of cracks by day three" man that is brutal. But honestly this reminds me of how people skip the little steps in a lot of things thinking theyre extra but theyre actually the whole reason it works. Like with cooking you can skip resting a steak and its fine till you do it with a big roast and end up with a dry mess. Or people who skip stretching before a workout and get hurt later. Its like we all want to save time but the universe is keeping score on the small stuff you cut corners on. You get one strike on a hot slab and youre never gonna make that mistake again.

Chisel it off? Like with an actual chisel? That's wild. Ive had stuck food before but never needed tools to deal with it.

Buddy of mine skipped tempering his pan once and his steak stuck so bad he had to chisel it off.
