My crew actually listened to my idea on a slab job and it worked
We were setting up for a big garage floor and the usual way felt off to me. I suggested we shift the pour start point to avoid a sun trap area. The lead guy agreed to try it, which was a first for me. We got a much smoother finish with no hot spots setting up too fast. It felt pretty good to have that input taken seriously. Take this with a grain of salt, but sometimes speaking up pays off. Now I'm more willing to share little tricks I pick up.

Mark that first win and remember how it felt. Crews listen more once you've shown you can spot a real problem, not just make noise. It builds your say so without you having to fight for it.

That first fix matters as much as spotting the problem.

Wait, but what if you fix the wrong thing first and lose all trust?

During my internship at TechFlow, I was all about pointing out flaws in the code. I believed that just finding problems was enough to prove my worth (which sounds silly now). But @brianm66's point here really shifted my view, because that first fix is what makes people trust you. Once you actually solve something, even a small thing, teams start taking your ideas seriously without you having to push so hard. It's like you earn your stripes quietly, and then your voice carries more weight in future talks.
