Pro tip: Using wet burlap saved my driveway pour in Akron last June
I had a big driveway job last June in Akron and the heat was brutal. The concrete was setting way too fast on me. A older finisher I know told me to lay wet burlap over the fresh slab and keep it damp. It slowed the cure down just enough to get a clean finish. Anyone else use burlap for hot weather pours?

Heat really messes with cure time. Wet burlap is a lifesaver when the concrete starts flashing on you.

Wet burlap is a lifesaver" sounds like something I'd say about a cold towel on a hot day, not my driveway! But hey, whatever keeps the concrete from turning into a crispy mess before you can even finish your beer.

Yeah, you learn that trick quick when the sun's cooking your pour. Keeps it from going off like a dry sponge.
