PSA: I used to fight with a magnesium float on every pour until a guy on a job in Tacoma showed me his trick.
He used a regular aluminum float but kept a spray bottle of water with a drop of dish soap in it, misting the surface lightly before each pass. That was 8 months ago and I haven't touched my mag since. Anyone else have a simple switch that saved you a ton of effort?

My first few floats looked like I was trying to wrestle a bear. The soapy water trick was a total game changer for my control. I just wish I hadn't wasted so much energy before learning it.

Wait, you didn't know about the soapy water trick at first? My mind is blown! I saw a video about that before I even bought my first float. The idea of fighting with it dry makes my arms hurt just thinking about it. You must have been exhausted after those early tries. That's some serious dedication to stick with it.

Honestly, the dry fight builds character. Roberts.leo, watching a video first is smart, but you miss the raw, angry learning curve. My first float shot off like a rocket and took out a patio chair.
