Realized that the way water pools on my driveway after rain shows where I need to improve my finishing.

Okay but "path of least resistance" is my whole life story, thanks @sagecooper. My driveway probably just has better chill vibes than the rest of the yard. I'll blame the mosquitoes on my lazy grading skills.

Hold on, that's reading too much into a natural process. Water follows gravity and finds the path of least resistance, which might just be the existing slope of your land or where the soil underneath has settled. It could pool in a perfect, well finished section just because that's the low spot. You might end up fixing something that isn't actually broken.

Something else to worry about is what that standing water attracts. In my experience, a perfect low spot becomes a prime mosquito breeding ground real fast.

Don't mosquitoes breed there anyway?
