The driveway I poured in 2018 vs the one I did in 2022, and the slump was the whole difference
The 2018 driveway in Round Rock started spider cracking within 18 months while the 2022 pour still looks new, and the thing I changed was keeping my slump at 4 inches instead of letting the truck driver talk me into 6 so it would flow easier. Same mix design, same crew, same Texas heat. Anyone else notice how much longer their flatwork lasts once they quit adding water at the chute?

Notice how the truck driver always has somewhere else to be right when you're trying to hold your slump down. Did you check the water before or after they added it, because half the time they sneak a splash in before you even get a look. Curious if you also cut back on the finish troweling or if the mix alone did the trick.
