TIL that adding a splash of water to my mix made the finish worse, not better

I tried wetting the surface a bit more on a 12x14 slab in Amarillo to get it to finish smoother, and it came out with a chalky haze and a few small cracks near the edge. Anyone got a fix for that haze, or do I need to strip and redo the top?
