Tried that new spray-on curing compound everyone was talking about
Saw a crew using it on a big garage pour in Tempe last week. I always thought it was just a gimmick, way too thin to work. They sprayed it on right after the final trowel, said it was a 1:5 mix with water. Came back two days later and the slab was perfect, zero cracks. No plastic sheeting to mess with either. What other new products have you guys tried that actually surprised you?

Okay but two days is nothing (concrete's sneaky like that). Seen that stuff fail hard on a driveway after a real freeze-thaw cycle.

My uncle's patio in Michigan looked perfect for three months. Then one bad winter with constant freezing and thawing. Whole sections cracked and heaved up by spring. You're right, alicemurphy, two days tells you nothing. Concrete needs a full year of seasons to really prove itself. That slow failure is the worst kind.

Honestly thought the same thing about that spray stuff, looked like colored water. Seeing that Tempe slab changed my mind though.
