Vent: watched a finisher in Amarillo trowel a whole driveway with no knee pads
I was 19 and he made it look so easy I figured pads were for guys who couldn't handle it, so I skipped them for 3 whole pours and paid for it the next morning. Now I've got a pair of 850s duct taped at the strap and I won't touch a slab without them. Anybody got a brand that holds up better on the straps?

If the guy's been doing it 20 years without pads maybe the knee pain thing is overblown and his body just adapted. Plenty of old timers swear by nothing but a good pair of jeans and they're still walking fine.
