Watched a guy in Denver try to finish a slab with a garden hose sprayer, and I will never forget it.

That's a new way to make a mud pie...

Remember my attempt at a fancy mud pie last summer? Ended up using potting soil by mistake. The whole thing looked like a failed science project, not a dessert. My neighbor's dog wouldn't even touch it. I've officially been banned from all future mud-based baking.

Oh man, that reminds me of an article I saw about DIY concrete disasters. It talked about how using the wrong water pressure can actually wash the cream right off the top of the slab. Leaves it all weak and pitted. That Denver guy probably ended up with a real mess on his hands.

Wait, so the water pressure can actually wash that cream layer off? I always thought that stuff was basically bonded to the concrete once it sets. @michael_green44 you just changed my mind about how fragile that top layer really is. I saw a guy in Florida try to power wash his driveway after a pour and ended up with a surface that looked like a moon crater. Left him with a patchy, rough mess that dirt and weeds loved to settle into. Makes me think twice before messing with anything fresh.
