Am I the only one who thinks the moon landing faked evidence people ignore basic physics?

I was at the Air and Space Museum in DC last weekend with my nephew, looking at the Apollo exhibit. A guy next to me was telling his kid the whole thing was filmed in a studio. I tried to politely point out that the retroreflectors left on the moon still work, and scientists bounce lasers off them to measure distance. He just said 'that's what they want you to think.' I didn't push it, but it got me thinking. If it was all fake, wouldn't the Soviets have called it out during the Cold War? They were watching everything. Why do people skip over that part? Has anyone ever gotten a solid answer from a skeptic on that?

Wait didnt the Soviets track all that stuff too? I used to kinda wonder about the moon landing but once I found out we left mirrors up there that still work, that pretty much shut it down for me. How do you fake laser reflectors on a global scale?

The Apollo 11 retroreflector was actually a pretty small array of 100 corner cubes, not a big mirror you'd see in a bathroom. But yeah, @thomas_sanchez you're right that multiple observatories around the world, including Soviet ones, bounced lasers off them and got consistent readings. From what I understand, it's not like we're talking about some huge mirror that would be obvious to fake either.
