Hot take: I debunked my own conspiracy theory in 20 minutes

Thought the city was hiding radiation readings near the old hospital. Checked their public database and found regular weekly reports from 2019 to now. Anyone else ever prove themselves wrong that fast?

Ha, funny how that works. It's like when you're convinced the grocery store is overcharging you for bananas, then you actually look at the receipt and realize you just miscounted how many you bought. Most of the time the simplest answer is the right one, but our brains want to find a hidden plot instead.

Wait wait wait, you're telling me you actually check your grocery receipts? I just toss them in the bag without a second look, that's wild. I guess I'm just assuming the computer never makes mistakes, which is probably dumb.

Get right to the point and say I did something similar with my car last year... thought my mechanic was ripping me off on an oil change until @baker.holly pointed out I'd been driving 8,000 miles between changes instead of the usual 3,000. Felt real dumb when I checked my own records and saw I was the one slacking off, not him. Funny how we jump to the worst conclusion first when most of the time we're just the source of our own confusion. Sometimes the simplest answer really is the one staring you in the face...
