I stopped washing my jeans for 6 months and they look better now

I know everyone says you gotta wash denim every few wears to keep them fresh, but I tried the opposite. After reading about raw denim care online, I just put my one pair of Levi's in the freezer overnight instead of washing them. Six months later, the color is way richer and they actually fit better than when new. Has anyone else tried the freezer trick with their jeans, or am I just lucky?

Man my buddy tried this and his jeans started smelling like a gym sock left in a hot car.

lol okay but did the freezer actually kill the smell or did you just get used to it? I tried the whole no wash thing for 3 months with my Uniqlo selvedge and by month 2 they were basically a biohazard. Had to cave and do a gentle soak because my roommate threatened to ban them from the apartment. The color did look kinda nice though after, but I couldnt get past feeling like I was spreading bacteria everywhere I sat.

Wait does the freezer thing actually do anything or is it just a myth? lmao I tried that with my gym shorts once and all it did was make them cold and stinky
