My cousin swore the moon landing footage was filmed in Arizona, so I spent a weekend digging into the old NASA archives.
Turns out the 'desert' backdrop he mentioned matches a training site, not a soundstage. Anyone else have a family member who sent them down a rabbit hole like that?

Remember how people always look for things that seem off in the footage, like the flag moving? They forget the astronauts were literally setting up science tools and moving around, of course the flag jiggled when they planted it. That training site detail is key, it shows they were practicing for real dirt and rocks, not studio lights. @hugos46, your Bigfoot hunt sounds way more fun than my dad making me check if birds are real government drones. What gets me is why someone would fake it so perfectly and then never do it again for over 50 years?

My dad once spent a whole weekend making me time how long shadows moved in our backyard to see if the sun was actually real. I mean, the moon landing stuff is bad enough, but he was convinced everything outside was a projection. That's funny about the never doing it again part though, because I asked him the same thing and he just said "the government got lazy." I thought the flag jiggling was because they had to twist it in the dirt, like when I put a pole in my garden and it wobbles for days. But yeah, I'd rather hunt Bigfoot any day than check if my own shadow is fake.
