My neighbor's ring camera caught me digging in my own backyard at 2am

I was trying to find a leaky sprinkler pipe by the fence in Tacoma last Tuesday and forgot my phone was pinging her motion alerts. She called the cops thinking I was burying evidence or something. Has anyone else had a routine home repair turn into a neighborhood watch situation?

Man, that's rough. I had the same thing happen when I was fixing a pipe under the porch at 2am, and I just went and talked to the neighbor the next day with a flashlight in hand to show her what I was doing.

Yeah, "went and talked to the neighbor the next day" is really the key part there. People don't realize how far a quick, genuine explanation can go before things spiral into accusations and official complaints. It's like everybody's default setting is to assume the worst now instead of just asking what's going on.
