Question about a weird trick for finding old forum posts

I was trying to find a specific 2008 post about the Denver airport murals for a project, but the site's search was useless. On a whim, I typed the exact phrase I remembered into Google with 'site:forumname.com' and it popped up instantly, bypassing the broken internal tool completely. Has anyone else found that the official search on these old conspiracy boards is basically designed to hide things?

My buddy did that to find a lost car thread.

@maxf33 Come on man, losing your car at the mall is actually a real thing. Walk out of Target after buying Christmas presents and suddenly every silver sedan looks the same. Not the end of the world, but wasting 20 minutes wandering around with your face in a GSP app is pretty annoying. Sometimes you just wanna get home and put the groceries in the fridge before they spoil.

Your buddy is smarter than me, I'd probably do that and still lose my own car.

I mean, is losing your car in a parking lot that big of a deal? You wander around for a few minutes, hit the panic button, and it's over. It's not like you left it at a different mall across town. People act like it's some huge life failure, but it's just a minor brain fart.
