Shoutout to the guy at the truck stop who talked me out of a solar panel scam
I was about to drop $200 on a portable panel from a van in Nevada until a trucker named Carl pulled me aside and said those things die after 3 months in the sun. He showed me the rust on his own from the same seller and saved me from a total waste of cash. Has anyone else run into these roadside electronics sellers out west?

Carl ever mention if those guys have a regular circuit or just drift from one rest stop to another? The way you describe it, sounds like a pretty organized little racket. You'd think the state police would get wind of it after a while.

Nah, that "organized little racket" part is a bit off. Carl made it sound more like they just know which spots are empty on which nights and bounce between them. Like... not a master plan or anything, just dumb luck and bad habits.
