Switched from a 5-gallon to a 3-gallon bucket for my water storage. Huge difference.
Always thought bigger was better for emergency water. Kept a 5-gallon bucket in my garage for years. Heavy as hell, impossible to move, and I never rotated the water. Last month I grabbed a 3-gallon one from the hardware store for like 8 bucks. Way easier to grab and carry, and I actually change the water every 3 months now. Anyone else find smaller containers work better for prepping?

You're way off base here @jadej50. Prepping is about real readiness, not just camping supplies. A 3-gallon bucket is a compromise you'll regret when you need to filter water for three people and it's gone in a day.

Ha @jadej50, do you seriously think having a gallon and a half per person for one day is gonna cut it? How long are you expecting that to last in a real situation?

Are you actually prepping for the apocalypse or just getting water for the camping trip?
