Hit 100 drywall screws in 8 minutes flat on Friday
I was timing myself on a small patch job at a site in Austin and just wanted to see how fast I could go. Ended up sinking exactly 100 screws in 8 minutes with no misses, which felt pretty good for someone who started out stripping every other head. Anyone else ever clock their speed on something like this and get surprised?

I read somewhere that pro crews can average around 12-15 screws a minute on a good day, so your 12.5 is right in that sweet spot. That clean work with no strips is what separates a solid speed run from just rushing, especially on thinner board.

lol "no misses" is the part that gets me. i've been doing this long enough that i can usually hit the screws fast, but the misses are what kill my time. 100 in 8 minutes with zero strips is actually crazy clean work. i'd be curious what your drill setup is, like clutch setting or bit type. cause i know for me, if i try going that fast on anything thinner than 5/8 drywall, i'll punch through the paper like it's nothing.
