Pro tip: The inspector who taught me to always bring two rolls of painter's tape
Doing a punch walk at a 40 unit apartment rehab in Boise and the city inspector shows up with a coffee in one hand and a stack of sticky notes in the other. He starts slapping notes on every outlet and door frame, then runs out halfway through the third floor and just stares at me. I hand him a roll of blue painter's tape from my bag and he rips off a strip, writes "fix this" on it, and sticks it on a crooked handrail. He says "paper falls off, tape stays, and your painter will hate you if you use the green stuff." So yeah, tape in the truck now, but I still wonder if other folks have inspector tricks like that.
