Update: My super in Queens kept burying gas line markers, so I started logging them on my phone
Every time we did a dig on a site in Astoria, the utility locator would show up and the little yellow flags were already gone because the super's crew ran them over with the skid steer. I started taking timestamped photos of each flag and pinning them in my phone the day before any excavation, and it saved us twice. Last month the locator tried to say we never called it in, but I pulled up 14 photos with GPS tags and that ended that. Cost of doing it is basically zero, which beats the 4 grand a strike costs when you hit a line. Anyone else have a super who treats marker flags like trash?
