Warning: got a look at our state's licensing board report and 1 in 3 complaints was against unlicensed guys
I was digging around on the state contractor board site last Tuesday for a completely different reason and stumbled onto their annual enforcement report. Out of 412 complaints filed in our region, 138 were against people with no license at all, and most of those were for jobs over $30k. I've been telling homeowners for a while to check the license number, but I honestly did not expect the split to be that lopsided. Now I know why my insurance guy keeps asking if I verify subs before they step on a job. Has anyone else pulled their own state's numbers like this, and did yours look any better?
