Blew out my clippers mid-appointment on a bridal party of 6

This happened last Saturday. I had a bride plus 5 bridesmaids all booked for updos and touch ups. My clippers just died halfway through cleaning up the bride's neckline. No warning, no weird noise, just stopped. I had to finish the last 3 people with a straight razor and a pair of shears, which took forever and made me sweat through my smock. Kept a spare set in my car ever since. Anyone else have a tool fail at the worst possible moment and how did you handle the mess?
