Changed my mind about using those cheap Amazon shears

I was at a hair show in Columbus last month and overheard a stylist say she ruined her client's hair with a $15 pair of shears that chipped mid-cut, and she had to pay $200 for a fix. She said cheap steel creates micro-fractures that snap under pressure, but I didn't believe it until I saw the damage she showed on her phone. Has anyone else had a pair of budget shears let them down like that?

wait, did the stylist say she could tell just by looking at the steel before using it? like were there any obvious signs the shears were bad quality, or did they look fine until they literally fell apart mid-cut?

nguyen.angela did the stylist mention anything about the tension screw or the pivot joint feeling off before it happened? seems like something that subtle would be hard to catch just by looking unless you've handled a ton of trash shears before. did she say they were loose from the box or did it just happen out of nowhere?

oh man that is wild! lol i seriously can't believe they just fell apart like that. like i've seen cheap shears get dull fast or start catching but literally coming apart mid-cut? that's next level bad quality. you'd think the screws would at least hold for a few uses before loosening up. crazy that there were no obvious signs either, you'd think there'd be some wobble or weird noise before total failure.
