Had a client come in for a color correction last Thursday that took 6 hours and she tipped me $100 on a $250 service.

She had tried to go platinum at home with a box kit and it was a mess, super brassy and uneven. We had to do a color remover first, then two rounds of lightener, then tone. She was so patient and just kept thanking me. It was one of those days where you feel like you really saved someone's hair and they actually see the value. What's the longest correction you've ever had to do?

Man, those home bleach jobs are no joke lol. I had one last year that took almost seven hours, similar to what @kim.nina said. We had to do a color remover, then a filler, then actually lighten it in sections because the old color was so patchy. The client brought snacks and everything, it was a whole day. Totally worth it when they look in the mirror and just light up.

Seven hour color corrections are basically a part time job at that point. I feel for you and @kim.nina dealing with those layered messes. The client bringing snacks is the only thing that makes it okay.

Wow, six hours is a marathon session. Did you get a chance to take any breaks, or were you just glued to that chair the whole time? Those home bleach disasters can be such a deep hole to dig out of, but it's the best feeling when the client gets it and is that thankful. My longest fix was close to eight hours on a corrective color that had multiple layers of old dye.

I used to think three hours was the max for any color correction, but reading about your six hour session totally changed my mind. That whole multiple layers of old dye situation sounds like a nightmare, I can only imagine the patience that took. Did you have to stop and re-evaluate halfway through when you saw how deep it went? The client bringing snacks is the only way to survive something like that, honestly. It really puts into perspective how much trust they have to put in you when they let you work that long.
