Hot take: I tried a new gel polish line and the old one is still better
Last week, I switched to a brand called 'GlossLock' for my nail clients, seeing all the hype online. After using it on five different people, the color chipped within three days on three of them, even with my usual prep. My old reliable 'Crystal Coat' line from the supply store in Tampa never does that, it lasts a full week easy. Has anyone else found that the trendy new stuff just doesn't hold up?

Tell me about it, chasing the shiny new bottle is a trap. I wasted good money on that 'VividVibe' launch last year that peeled like a bad sunburn. My clients looked at me like I used school glue. Sometimes the boring stuff in the plain bottle just works, and the fancy ads are all smoke.

Yeah, that VividVibe launch was rough, but honestly, the peeling was from a bad batch. The reformulation they did after that recall actually works pretty well now.

Totally get what you mean about the shiny new bottle being a trap. I fell for it with a line that smelled like grapes, the whole thing. It was so thin it flooded every cuticle. Went right back to my old thick formula that you can actually control. The hype is never about the bottle that just sits there and works.

Remember the old stuff that works is usually hiding in the plain bottle.
