I thought those scalp scrubber tools were just a gimmick.

A client with persistent product buildup brought one to her appointment last week, and her hair was noticeably cleaner before I even started. Has anyone else found a specific brand or technique with these that actually works for salon use?

Guess I owe the beauty aisle an apology. My own scalp scrubber has been gathering dust next to my fancy face roller. Might have to dig it out after hearing this.

Right there with you @evahenderson. That scrubber really does make a difference. Mine was buried too.

Actually, it's not really about the brand of the scrubber itself. The real trick is using it on dry hair before you even get it wet. That way, the bristles can really break up the buildup without it turning into a slippery mess. I tried it the other way for ages and it never did much. Doing it dry first makes all the difference, then you shampoo like normal.
