Just realized my foundation technique was making wrinkles worse

My older clients kept ending up with cakey makeup that highlighted every line. Switched to a light, hydrating base and blended with a damp sponge to avoid settling. What products or tricks do you use for mature skin without that heavy look?

Hold on, primers just add another layer of stuff. All that smoothing silicone can actually make foundation slide around and settle worse later. A truly good moisturizer does the job without the extra product.

Blurring primer is a total cheat code for texture. My foundation used to catch on dry patches, but a good primer makes it sit on top like a filter. It really does keep everything from looking heavy.
