My clients are all about that 'no-makeup' look now
I had a woman come in yesterday who just wanted her brows shaped and a bit of lip balm, which is crazy compared to the full glam we used to do. It made me think back to when I first got my license, and everyone was asking for smoky eyes and bold lips. Honestly, I kind of miss playing with all those colors sometimes, but I get it. I see it on my feed too, people posting bare-faced selfies and talking about skincare over makeup. So I've been taking more classes on skin health and which serums work under a light base. It's actually fun learning new stuff, even if it means my glitter palettes are collecting dust. Guess we all have to change with the times, right?

I remember when bold makeup was common too. It feels like just yesterday everyone wanted big eye looks and strong lips. Now my feed is full of people talking about simple skin care. I miss the fun of those full glam times sometimes, but learning new stuff keeps things fresh. Changing with the times is part of the work, and it sounds like you're doing a good job. We're all trying to keep up with what people like now.

Casey's got a point about the buying cycle, but I actually think skincare trends started before apps really pushed them.

Casey's right, apps shape trends in more than just skincare.

Changing with the times sure is work. I bet the apps push skincare because it gets you buying more often than makeup does. Kind of a bleak way to look at it, but hey.
