My curling iron gave out mid-blowout at the salon yesterday
I was doing a big wedding party style for a client at our place in Springfield, and my trusty 1-inch Hot Tools iron just stopped heating halfway through. I mean, it was over 100 degrees outside, maybe the heat got to it? I had to finish the last two curls with a flat iron, which was a mess. Anyone have a go-to brand that holds up better in busy summer months?

Big wedding party style" sounds like a lot. It's just hair, not open heart surgery. Flat iron probably worked fine.

Yeah, but @robertcarr, a flat iron on damp hair for a wedding is asking for frizz by hour two. You need a good heat protectant and a round brush with a dryer first to get it smooth, then hit it with the iron.

My sister tried the flat iron on damp hair for her wedding last year. By the time they cut the cake, her hair had puffed up like a cloud. It really does need that dry, smooth base first or the humidity gets in there. A quick blow dry with a brush makes all the difference for hold.
