My toner turned a client's hair purple last week
I was at my station in Salon Lofts in Austin and grabbed a bottle that looked like my usual violet toner, but it was actually a direct dye I forgot I had mixed. After 10 minutes under the dryer, her highlights were straight Barney purple and I had to strip it with a color remover twice to get it out. Has anyone else grabbed the wrong bottle in a rush and had to fix a disaster like this?

You know what's wild is this keeps happening everywhere lately, not just in salons. People are rushing so much that they're grabbing the wrong bottle at the coffee shop and putting salt instead of sugar, or using Windex instead of glass cleaner because they're in a hurry. It's like we're all moving too fast to actually look at what we're picking up. I blame how everything is expected to be done yesterday now, so nobody slows down to double check their stuff. How do you make sure you don't grab the wrong tool or bottle when you're slammed?

Oh man, that reminds me of the time I grabbed my roommate's shampoo instead of mine and ended up smelling like a pine forest for three days... not my best look. But hey, at least your story has a happy ending with the color remover working out!

Wait, wait, hold on. You used Windex instead of glass cleaner? I mean you said Windex is pretty much glass cleaner anyway but that's still wild. I'd be scared I'd mix up something worse like oven cleaner and end up melting my whole windshield. Man, I gotta start reading labels twice before I grab anything, that's a nightmare waiting to happen.

Whoa, I mean I kind of see it the opposite way actually. Like yeah people are busy, but I think we've always been prone to grabbing the wrong thing when we're distracted. It's not really a new problem exclusive to our fast paced world. I've zoned out and put salt in my coffee back in high school long before anyone expected emails in five minutes. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like this is more of a focus thing than a society thing. Most folks I know just slow down for two seconds and look at the label, even when they're slammed.
