Pro tip: coloring grey roots with a toothbrush and 10 volume worked better than smudging
I had a client with maybe 20 percent grey right at her part line and the usual root smudge kept looking muddy on her fine hair. So I mixed a quarter ounce of 10 volume with her base color and worked it in along the part with a cheap flat toothbrush I keep for brows. Took about 8 minutes and the line came out soft instead of harsh, she even booked her next one before leaving. Anyone else use tools from their kit for stuff they were not made for?
