Spent 4 hours figuring out why my color was pulling green on a level 8 client

She had a lot of warm undertone from previous box dye and I used an ash base. Should have known better but the lighting in my booth is trash. Anyone else deal with this or do I just need better lights?

Feel your pain, lighting in my booth is awful too and I’ve done the exact same thing with ash over warm box dye. It’s so frustrating when you think you’ve got it right and the color just pulls weird.

Three times I've done that exact same thing @taraross, and each time I convinced myself "this time it'll be different." My booth lighting makes everything look like it's under a heat lamp at a diner, so I keep ending up with roots that scream "I tried" while the ends go full swamp green. Honestly, at this point I just tell people I'm going for a "lived-in look" and hope they don't ask too many questions.
