That Denver trade show booth changed how I mix toner formulas
Saw a stylist demo a custom toner blend at the Rocky Mountain Hair Expo last month and now I layer two different formulas on every balayage, has anyone else messed with multi-toner layering for stubborn brass?
Honestly I had the same lightbulb moment when I picked up a warm toned gloss to go under a pearl toner for this one client with super stubborn orange tones. Layering a violet based formula on the mids and a blue based one just on the ends saved me from having to do a whole second appointment. The trick for me was letting each layer sit for like five minutes before applying the next so they didnt just mix into one muddy mess. Now I do it on pretty much every heavy lift blonde.
