That time my coworker swore by razor cutting wet hair for every client
My old coworker Jenny at Fantastic Sams in Tulsa kept telling me I was wasting time cutting dry hair. I finally tried her method on a curly-haired client last Tuesday and it was a disaster - ended up with choppy layers and had to fix it dry. Some advice works for certain textures but not all, you know? Has anyone else been burned by a coworker's "guaranteed" technique?

Oh honey, that brings back memories of my aunt who swore by cutting hair while it was soaking wet in the rain because she said the humidity made it behave better. She ended up with a crooked bob that looked like she let a toddler loose with scissors.

I once read that cutting hair dry is actually better for curly hair because you can see the natural shape, but apparently your aunt took that to the extreme with the rain idea. Sounds like the humidity just made everything worse and she ended up chasing a shape that wasn't happening. My cousin tried something similar once, cutting her bangs in the bathroom mirror after a hot shower, and she ended up with a zigzag pattern across her forehead. At least your aunt's bob had a story behind it, even if it was a disaster. Did she ever figure out what actually works for her hair type?
