TIL a trick for stubborn bleach lines that actually works
Had a client come in last week with a really obvious band from a bad home bleach job, right at her crown. The line was thick and orange, and she wanted a clean blonde. I was about to do a full foil to break it up, which would have taken forever. Instead, I grabbed a fine-tooth comb and a small brush. I mixed a low volume developer with lightener, painted a thin line directly on the dark band, and then used the comb to gently feather the lightener up into the darker hair above it. I left it for maybe 15 minutes, checking every 5. It softened that hard line perfectly without over-processing the already light hair below. Saved me an hour and the result looked way more natural. Has anyone else tried a feathering technique like this on banding, or do you always go for full foils?

Love seeing a pro fix a problem with a simple tool instead of a complex process. It shows how often the best fix is a focused, gentle touch, not a full overhaul. That principle works on so many things, from hair to home repairs.

Isn't that risky on really porous hair? I get what @kai_webb91 is saying about a simple fix, but I'd be worried about creating a new line of breakage.

Yeah, I had a stylist do something like that on my ends last year. She used way too much heat on one small section, and it felt like straw for months. Ended up having to cut more off than she was trying to save.
