Took me 45 minutes to realize I was using the wrong brush for fine hair
I had a client with super fine hair yesterday and spent way too long trying to get a smooth blowout. Kept grabbing my regular round brush and wondering why the sections kept slipping. After fighting with it for 45 minutes I finally swapped to a smaller ceramic brush and it took 10 minutes. Now I feel dumb for not noticing sooner. Anyone else have a brush they should have switched mid-service?

Oh dude, are you me? I had almost the exact same thing happen last week with a client who had super fine hair. I grabbed my big paddle brush without thinking and it took me forever to realize the bristles were way too soft to actually grip anything. I felt like an idiot standing there wrestling with it for half an hour. Finally switched to a boar bristle mix and it was night and day, so I totally feel your pain on this one.

Yeah but did you actually have both brushes within reach or did you have to dig through your bag to find the smaller one? Because that's the part that gets me every time. I'll have the wrong brush in my hand and the right one is buried under three combs and a hair clip so I just keep fighting the losing battle instead of taking ten seconds to find it. Makes me wonder if we're all just too stubborn to admit we grabbed the wrong tool.

Dug through half my bag before admitting defeat and just using my fingers instead.
