Used to pile on the hairspray like it was going out of style back in 2013
I remember layering three cans of extra hold on every updo for weddings. Took me getting a complaint from a bride in Dayton about crunchy curls to finally switch. Now I rely on texture sprays and a good setting mist instead. The finish is softer but still lasts through six hours of dancing. What changed your go-to routine for updos?

Wait, did people actually think the crunchy helmet thing looked cool back then, or was it just a side effect of cheap foam and bad decisions? I mean, I get it, we all had that one helmet that felt like a pillowcase full of gravel, you know? But somehow we thought we were unstoppable with that thing strapped on. Probably because we were too busy trying not to faceplant into a curb to notice how ridiculous we looked. It's funny how something so unsafe became a fashion statement for a hot minute. At least modern gear doesn't come with built-in static shock and a weird smell.
