Had a load shift on me at a job site in Detroit last week
I was lifting a steel beam for a renovation near the old Packard plant and the chain binders loosened up. The beam tilted maybe 15 degrees before I caught it and set it down slow. Took my time re-rigging it with extra slings and the rest of the lift went smooth. Anyone else have a close call with a load that made you slow down and double check everything?

Wait, what kind of chain binders were you using - the ratchet style or the lever type that can pop open if you hit a bump just right?

Chain binders loosened up" - holy crap, that's terrifying.

Back when I was hauling logs, I had a chain snap on a steep grade and watched a whole load bounce down the mountain like pickup sticks. Nothing gets your heart going like realizing your load just decided to go on its own adventure.
