Just realized I've done over 2,500 lifts with my current mobile crane without a single rigging incident.

I mean, I was just updating my logbook yesterday and the number hit me, idk, maybe it's just me but that's a lot of days where everything just went right, anyone else ever get surprised by a safety streak like that?

Ever check the wear on your slings and hardware as closely as your logbook? I got lax once after a long clean run, then found a nasty crack in a shackle body I'd been using for months.

Man, that's an awesome run, seriously. But Caleb's got a point that hits home. I got too comfortable on a streak years back and my daily checks turned into quick glances. Started making myself physically touch and rotate every piece of hardware before the pick, not just look at it from my cab. Found things my eyes had started skipping over.

You ever been so proud of a streak that you basically dared the universe to humble you? Because same. I had a 90-day clean run once and got so cocky I started checking gear with my eyes half closed like it owed me something. Then I almost dropped a 2-ton block because a sling had frayed to hell and my "look" turned into a lazy glance from ten feet away. Now I treat every safety check like a performance review where I'm the worst employee ever. Keeps me honest.

That's a big number for sure, but honestly, it just means you haven't found the problem yet. All that gear has a breaking point you can't see, and a long run without a hiccup can make you stop looking as hard. The logbook is just a record, it doesn't make the next lift any safer.
