That's actually a common saying for crane operators. It means a little movement is normal and safe when you're lifting heavy loads. What kind of crane was he talking about?

Oh yeah, I've heard that before. My brother-in-law works with tower cranes and says the same thing. It's kinda wild to see them sway a bit but I guess it's built to do that.

Makes sense, my version of that is if my desk chair isn't squeaking, I'm not really working. The coffee stand guy is dealing with tons of steel, I'm just fighting with a spreadsheet.
